Martinsburg Community Library
Public Meeting Space Policy adopted 1/15/16
The Martinsburg Community Library currently does not have a separate meeting room for public meetings.
The Martinsburg Library does have a small genealogy room, known as the Johnson Memorial Genealogy & History Room, with a maximum capacity of 15 occupants.
The Johnson Memorial Room contains a rich historical collection of materials related to the Morrisons Cove area, and is open to the public during regular library hours.
The library allows the community to use the Johnson Memorial Room for research and genealogical related meetings. Genealogical related use of the Johnson Memorial room will be given first priority in the daily operations of the library.
In the event that the Johnson Memorial Room is unoccupied at the arrival time of individuals or community-related groups seeking meeting space, the room may be used for meetings. The public has the right to enter the room for research at any time.
Priority will be given to library related groups and programs for the usage of the Johnson Memorial Room.
Room usage must not interfere with regular library operations.
No food or drink will be permitted in the Johnson Memorial Room at any time.
The library does not endorse the view or opinions of any group or organization utilizing the room for a public meeting space.
The library reserves the right to limit all usage of the Johnson Memorial Room in the event of construction, repairs, or restoration of any sort that would impede the use of the room.
Materials in the Johnson Memorial Room may not be removed without permission from library staff. Materials in the Johnson Memorial Room may not leave the library.
